What this platform is

OnlineLegalHelp.org publishes legal information and reads enquiries from members of the public. Where an enquirer asks to be put in touch with an advocate, the enquiry is passed to an independent advocate practising before the relevant forum.

The terms on which this is done

  • No advocate is named, described, profiled, photographed, rated, ranked or recommended anywhere on this website or in any material published by Swapraxis LLP.
  • Swapraxis LLP takes no share of any fee, and receives nothing contingent on the outcome of any matter.
  • Fees are agreed between the advocate and the litigant, and paid to the advocate directly.
  • Empanelled advocates are independent professionals. They are not employees, partners or agents of Swapraxis LLP, and the platform gives them no instructions on how to conduct any matter.
  • An advocate must not represent, in any material, that they are recommended, rated, ranked or endorsed by this platform.
  • Enquirers are told, before any introduction is made, that they are free to instruct any advocate they choose.

Who is considered

Advocates enrolled with a State Bar Council and practising before forums, with demonstrable experience of the forum concerned and no record of proved professional misconduct.

Responsibility for compliance

Each advocate remains responsible for their own compliance with the Advocates Act, 1961, the Bar Council of India Rules, and the rules of their State Bar Council. Swapraxis LLP does not advise advocates on their professional obligations, and an advocate should satisfy themselves independently that participation is consistent with those obligations before applying.
