What this website is

OnlineLegalHelp.org is a legal information website operated by Swapraxis LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India.

The website does two things. It publishes general information about legal procedure in India, written in Hindi and English. And it reads enquiries sent to it, identifies which court, tribunal or authority a matter appears to belong to, and — where the person asks for it — puts that person in touch with an independent advocate who practises before that forum.

What this website is not

  • It is not a law firm, an advocate’s chamber, or a legal practice of any kind.
  • It does not give legal advice. Nothing published here, and nothing said in reply to an enquiry, is advice on any person’s particular matter.
  • It does not represent anyone before any court, tribunal or authority.
  • It does not advertise, promote, recommend, rate or rank any advocate.
  • It does not charge litigants. There is no fee of any kind for reading this website, sending an enquiry, or being put in touch with an advocate.
  • It makes no claim or promise about the outcome of any matter.

The advocates

Advocates who receive enquiries through this website are independent professionals. They are not employees, partners or agents of Swapraxis LLP. Each exercises their own professional judgement, sets their own fees, and is responsible for their own work. Any fee is agreed between the litigant and the advocate directly, and is paid to the advocate directly. Swapraxis LLP receives no share of any fee, and receives nothing that depends on the outcome of any matter.

The information published here concerns forums situated in Uttar Pradesh, including the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and its Bench at Lucknow, and tribunals sitting at Prayagraj and Lucknow. Enquiries from elsewhere are read, but we may not be able to help with them.
