This page explains how the material on this website is written, checked and corrected, and what we will and will not publish.

1. Purpose

Most people in India who face a criminal proceeding, a recovery notice, or a service dispute do not lack a remedy. They lack a plain explanation, in Hindi, of what the remedy is, where it lies, and what the next step looks like. That gap is what this website exists to close.

2. What we publish

  • Explanations of procedure before the courts and tribunals situated in India.
  • Explanations of statutory provisions in plain Hindi and English.
  • Explanations of what a notice, order or stage in a proceeding ordinarily means.
  • Checklists of documents and steps ordinarily involved at a given stage.

3. What we do not publish

  • Legal advice on any individual matter.
  • Any advocate’s name, photograph, profile, qualification, record or fee.
  • Any ranking, rating, comparison, recommendation or endorsement of a legal practitioner.
  • Any claim, express or implied, about the likely outcome of a proceeding.
  • Any success rate, case count, client count, or testimonial.
  • The identity of any party in a proceeding where the law restricts disclosure.
  • Content that would sensationalise a pending criminal matter or prejudice its trial.

4. How we source

Every proposition on this website is anchored to a named source — a section of a statute, a rule, a notified regulation, or a reported judgment with its citation. Where a question is unsettled, or where High Courts differ, we say so rather than picking a side. Where a page depends on a limitation period, a fee, or a pecuniary threshold, that figure is checked against the primary source before publication.

5. Review before publication

  • Draft against primary sources, with every citation recorded.
  • Check that no statement amounts to advice on a specific matter and that no outcome is implied.
  • Check every statutory reference against the current text of the provision.
  • Compliance read against our Disclaimer & Regulatory Notice.
  • Publish with a date, and a review date.

6. Currency and correction

Pages carry the date they were last reviewed. When a statute is amended, a rule notified, or a judgment overruled, the affected pages are updated.

If you find an error, write to contact@onlinelegalhelp.org with the page and the correct position. We would rather be told.

8. Advertising and independence

Where advertising appears on this website it is served by a third-party network and is marked as advertising. No advertiser has any influence on what we publish. We do not accept payment for editorial content, do not publish sponsored articles, and do not accept payment for a link.

9. Use of automated tools

We use software tools, including language tools, in drafting and translation. No page is published on the output of such a tool alone. Every page is reviewed against primary sources by a person before publication, and that person is responsible for it.
